Microcredit Company “Frontiers” was established in July 2003 by the American NGO ACDI/VOCA dealing with issues of social and economic assistance to developing countries. The purpose of the company was to solve the urgent need of Central Asian market for a full wholesale creditor and, accordingly, its objective is to support the development of microfinance institutions operating in the Central Asia countries and serving hundreds of thousands of poor people and those who have limited access to financial resources.
Thus, the advent of the MCC “Frontiers” in the financial and credit system of Central Asia filled an important gap in it, and many microfinance institutions and credit unions that previously had difficulties with financing the working capital because of the lack of credit history and a slight turnover received access to much-needed funding that allowed great increasing their credit resources and expand the coverage of the population served.
