The selection will take place during the Investor Day, which will be held in Bishkek on October 17, 2015 at the Jannat Regency Bishkek Hotel. The meeting is organized by the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia (EFCA) as part of the Youth Entrepreneurship project, implemented by EFCA with the financial support of Kumtor Gold Company.
This project is aimed at strengthening the potential of young people in order to give them the opportunity to lead initiatives that contribute to the sustainable development of the Issyk-Kul region through the development of income-generating activities.
Earlier, the project organized initial selection events in the Start Up Weekend format, following which about 60 young people were given the opportunity to take a course in the basics of entrepreneurship. Then, with the support of professional mentors, they developed detailed business plans.
“The current Investor Day is a kind of final stage in the selection of competition participants. Here, at least 15 of the most interesting and viable business ideas will be selected, which will ultimately be financed by the Youth Entrepreneurship project. The support will be provided in the form of a grant, but on the condition that the applicants themselves also make their contribution,” explained project manager Nazgul Aksarieva.
At the same time, an additional platform for finding funding will be organized for the authors of applications that do not pass the final selection. The guys will be able to present their business ideas directly to representatives of the business community, who will take part in the upcoming event as potential investors.
