KYRGYZ ECONOMY GROWS BY 6% IN SEPTEMBER

Kyrgyz economy grew by 6 percent in September, Prime Minister Temir Sariyev said today at a meeting of the Coordinating Council for interaction with donors.

According to him, despite the difficult economic situation in the countries — main trade partners of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kyrgyzstan managed to keep the macroeconomic indicators at the appropriate level. GDP in the first nine months of 2015 rose by 6 percent.

«We intend to keep this trend till the end of the year. The growth was registered in almost all industries, especially in agriculture. The inflation rate at the end of September — about 1 percent. I think at the end of the year figure will be in the range of 5-6 percent. At present, growth in energy and textile industry is behind,» he said.

«The slowdown in energy is explainable. We save water and limited production, imported electricity in the summer. Now import ended. TPP and HPP will operate normally. By the end of the year they will make up leeway. We are concerned by the situation in the textile industry. Its production volumes fell because of lower purchasing power of the population in the partner countries. Operational headquarters were established, anti-crisis program was adopted. We will solve the problem,» the Prime Minister said.
